CDP Ireland Network Knowledge Share, Energy Transition, Eirgrid 09th April 2026
In April Eirgrid hosted a Knowledge Share on the Transmission System Operator perspective and role in the energy transition, outlining the pace of change out to 2030. The session also touched on the challenges and opportunities associated with this transition. Errol Close, Chief Corporate Services Officer at EirGrid gave a fascinating insight into the role of the TSO and the Network was very grateful to Orlaith Diamond, Head of Sustainability for bringing us all together and hosting us so well.  
Climate Finance Week 2025
​As part of Climate Finance Week 2025, the CDP Ireland Network organised several events to connect the CDP CEO, Sherry Madera, to the Irish ecosystem. These included a meeting between Sherry, Laura Burke, then Director General of the EPA, and Declan Meally, SEAI, Director of Business, Public Sector and Transport. A meeting between Sherry and members of the CDP Ireland Network Steering Group and a meeting between Sherry and top scoring companies from the Irish ecosystem
 
 The Network also organised a public event on supply chains, explained below.  
CDP Focussing on Earth-Positive Strategies in Supply Chains as part of Climate Finance Week, 24th - 25th November 2025
The event featured Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, and focused on enhancing sustainability and transparency across corporate supply chains. Against a backdrop of global regulatory change and supply chain uncertainty, the session explored the critical role of CDP in driving positive environmental action worldwide, as well as the future direction of environmental disclosure and supply chain sustainability.
The discussion provided practical insights from supply chain practitioners, highlighted what lies ahead for environmental disclosure and corporate action, and deepened participants’ understanding of CDP’s global role alongside the work of the CDP Ireland Network.

CDP Ireland Network Knowledge Share Pathway to Net Zero: Setting SBTi approved Net Zero targets supported by a Climate Transition Plan, 21st October 2025
​CDP Ireland Network were delighted to be hosted by Kerry Group in their Global Innovation Centre in Naas for this session on Pathway to Net Zero.
The knowledge share spotlighted Kerry’s journey in setting their SBTi-approved Net Zero target and developing a Climate Transition Plan (CTP) to support delivery. They covered practical considerations when developing a CTP, the process of establishing ambitious yet achievable climate targets and key challenges encountered, and lessons learned along the way. It was a very interactive event and fostered knowledge sharing and discussions on the practicality of disclosure.

CDP Ireland Network Corporate Disclosure In-Person Training and Workshops, 23rd July 2025
​Hosted by CDP Ireland Network and supported by Gregor Norris, CDP HQ, Katie Heston and Fionn Phelan of Goodbody Clearstream.
Workshop 1 on Transition Planning demonstrated to investors, suppliers, customers, and other key stakeholders that the organisation was committed to the climate transition, and that its business model would remain relevant and resilient in a net‑zero carbon economy
Workshop 2 on Measuring Nature explored the European Commission’s recent launch of its “Roadmap towards Nature Credits,” highlighting the increasing importance of measuring companies’ nature‑positive actions and avoiding nature‑negative impacts. Participants came together to exchange views and discuss the latest developments in this evolving field, with a focus on how organisations can respond to and engage with emerging nature‑related frameworks.
CDP Climate Change Disclosure 2025 Training provided an overview of recent CDP disclosure updates and practical training on how organisations could improve both the quality of their disclosures and their overall scores. The session covered the key changes to the CDP disclosure process, including a detailed walkthrough of the updated questionnaire layout and structure, and an explanation of how integrated questions would be presented. It was delivered by experts from CDP headquarters, alongside local CDP consultants, who shared guidance, insights, and best practices.
CDP Ireland Responder Training online webinar, 02nd July 2025
Hosted by CDP Ireland Network and supported by Gavin Whitaker and Mark Bennett, Goodbody Clearstream[MB1] , this 90 minute workshop provided an introduction to CDP and answered questions such as why companies should disclose through CDP, what to expect in 2025 and it also provided tips for first-time responders and information on where to find resources. The network wishes to thank Tanisha Kamat for her presentation.

CDP Ireland Network 2024 Report Launch, 22nd May 2025
​At an event, kindly hosted by ESB, the network met to launch the 2024 Annual Report. Following opening remarks from Deborah Meghen, Mark Bennett hosted a fireside chat with Eamon Ryan, Former Minister & Leader of the Green Party.  Eamon shared his reflections on the role of corporate climate leadership in delivering Ireland’s net zero ambitions. The Network was also delighted to welcome Nicole Morejón, Associate Director, Disclosure Programme Management, CDP Europe who gave an update on disclosure performance globally. Fionn Phelan, Senior Manager, Climate Strategy & ESG Reporting, at Goodbody Clearstream provided insights into the performance of Irish companies and foreign companies with operations in Ireland.
The event underscored the importance of corporate disclosure in accelerating climate action and building long‑term resilience.
CDP Ireland Network Knowledge Share, Decarbonisating the Electricy Sector, ESB, 1st May 2025 
Hosted by ESB, this knowledge share covered the decarbonisation trilemma, how to enable net zero across society and gave in insight into how ESB manages disclosure internally. The attendees also go an insight into current and future technologies and the challenges to be overcome to achieve our national climate goals. We are grateful to Sharon McManus, Group Head of Sustainability and Brian Gray, Sustainability Lead for Climate Action in ESB. ​

The discussion focused on how organisations are navigating the delicate balance between regulatory compliance, sustainability objectives, and economic growth. Industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability experts came together to share insights on aligning business strategies with the EU Taxonomy, while safeguarding profitability and fostering innovation in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. ​
